Beers of the World

I'm drinking cider now

I had 4 cans of crest last night...woke up on the couch at 4:30 with the TV on...hate that....

K Cider is 8.4 vol and Strongbow Black is I think 7.4 vol
The Scrumpy Jack cider is 6%.

Nice when chilled in hot weather like tonight :) Im gasping!

My dad still has a jug of homemade cider (unopened) that my great uncle made 20 years ago.
Do you think its still drinkable?

Where I come from here in the federal state Hesse, making and drinking cider is a tradition. Some people claim there is nothing like a cider made in Hesse. We have lots and lots of cider - festivals here in which people simply meet to drink cider.

In a town called "Langen" they even have a fountain which is bubbling with cider (only when it's festival time). So you can go there with your glass and just fill it up as often as you want to :)

This is taken from wikipedia:

German cider, usually called ''Apfelwein'' (apple wine), and regionally known as ''Apfelmost'' (apple must), ''Viez'' (from Latin ''vice'', the second or substitute wine), or ''Saurer Most'' (sour must), has an alcohol content of 5.5% - 7% and a tart, sour taste.

German cider is mainly produced and consumed in Hesse, particularly in the Frankfurt, Wetterau and Odenwald areas, in Moselfranken, Merzig (Saarland) and the Trier area, as well as the lower Saar area and the region bordering on Luxembourg. In these regions, there are several large producers, as well as numerous small, private producers often using traditional recipes.

In some of these regions, there are regular cider competitions and fairs, in which the small, private producers participate. Cider songs are composed and sung at these events. The Merzig region crowns a Viez Queen, and the lower Saar area a Viez King.
An official ''Viez route'' or cider route connects Saarburg with the border to Luxembourg.

You can just stay away from what your uncle made. I don't feel like cleaning puke. You can just drink a Killian with me when we finally get home tonight. I'll need one.

OK but you can have the Killians, I got some Sam Adams(black lager).
I like dark beer..
