I can't believe a place like this exists. I was browsing the internet today and googled, "perfect suburbia". I stumbled upon a random fact that Desperate Housewives was recorded on the same set/street as The 'Burbs, my favorite movie of all time? I guess you learn something new every day
Anyways, I remember when I was 11 years old back in 1990. I had a friend over for a sleepover and my mom suggested we go to the videostore and rent a movie. (Teens won't know wtf I'm talking about). Anyways, we decided on The 'Burbs and what an impression it made on me. I soon after got it on VHS and watched it almost daily.
Fast forward a couple a years to 1995. My friend and I loved this movie, and when we got wind of that it would air on TV, we hyped the !@#$ out of it to everyone we knew. Maybe too much, as not many liked it. They said it was ok, but not as great as we depicted it to be.
To this day, at the age of 35, I still watch this movie a couple of times a year. I love EVERYTHING about it. So many memorable quotes and great acting. Back then, and still now, I was a huge fan of Rick Docummon and Corey Feldman and it gave the feeling that stuff like this could happen right under your nose.
"The movies? That's not real, that's the same as television. No, this is real, THIS is my neighbourhood"
