Okay.
firstly i'd like to apologise for a lot of who read this thread title thinking it was a screening of The 'burbs.

Secondly like to ask who has seen it on the 'big-screen', i being only 20 didn't nhavew the priviledge back in 1989 too.

BUT i did work in my local cinema a company called CINEWORLD.
They did a special old skool tuesdays called TIMEWARP TUESDAY showing classic 80s movies for cheap. Does anywhere in AMERICAN cinemas do this?
Only one showing a day, and a different film everyweek... at7pm.
such the like of; gremlins, ghostbusters, ghostbusters 2, karate kid, and THE 'BURBS.

I came home from college at 4pm, and had work from 5pm-11pm in the chipshop down the road from me. My friend rang me at 4:45pm and said THE 'BURBS is being shown tonight; so 5mins later i rang my boss 5MINS BEFORE I HAD TO START MY SHIFT and said "...sorry can't come into work 2day, i have diarohea" hahah.

so me and 3 or so friends went to watch it; i was so excited. And was a brillaint experience... it was in the premiere luxury screen. ANd onyl about 20 people there.
i spent ages picking my chair where to watch it from.
complained it was too quite.

From wortking in the cinema i found out that the old original film 35MM prints of the films are keep as a back catalog in a random UK warehouse. i wanat to try get a fill copy of 9x cans of the BURBS on film be good.

ALSO i am allowed to hire out the premiwer screen of 70 lucury seats and watch the burbs for £200! someone help me do it just need to sell tickets.

anayway back to the point......
HAVE YOU SEEN THE BURBS ON THE 'BIG-SCREEN' ANYTIME?

No...no-one on the block has...but er...I like the sound of hiring out that cinema...THAT WOULD TOTALLY ROCK! We could meet at the bowl-a-rama, go to the deli....sink a coupla hundred beers...then have a midnight matinee of Burbs! COOL

That was a really funny story! We do have those type cinemas here in the states though. Mostly in the bigger cities...not in the crappy area where I live. Really the only thing I love about where I live is the beach, other than that, it's total crap. :(

We don't have these kind of cinemas here in Germany although I always wished we had.

I'd love to see those classics on the big screen. Especially "The Burbs" but also stuff like

"Ghostbusters"
"Dirty Dancing"
"Top Gun"
"Beverly Hills Cop"
"Indiana Jones"
"Rambo"
"Back to the Future"
"Roger Rabbit"
"Gremlins"
"The naked gun"
"Honey, I shrunk the kids"...

Wow, the list goes on and on.

Goonies, yeah.

And, oh my god, that would be so cool, "The Monster Squad".

LOL true....true...ahhh man...theres so many you could have....

Army of Darkness,

You would think there might be a big demand for this kind of thing.
