Did you notice

The HD version looks great; shame it isn't out on Blu-ray because I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

You can even make out whether Walter's calendar says June or July.

We assumed it is June. Can you confirm that?

Yep :)

About the book "The Theory and Practice of Demonology"; as I understand it, it is just a prop for the film but you can make out some of the text. On the page titled LXVII, the heading for the last paragraphs appears to be "The Symbolic Aphorisms of Pythagoras".

Cool, thanks for the information. Are there some other details one might only discover in HD?

Did anyone ever notice that one of the cops at the end is wearing some sort of mask? It's in the scene right where Hans is attempting to sneak away from the ambulance.

Here's a screen capture:

Hi and welcome aboard.

Very attentive, I've never noticed that before. And despite of thousands of posts on this board, we haven't discussed this yet.

So what could this be? To me it looks like some crew member, wearing a headset or something like that.

Still here and alive- always loving the 'burbs and even have the organ music as my ringtone.

yes, I see the mask now. that's really weird if not the movie itself being weird-always a classic and it always holds a close place to my heart. XOXO-"Burbs fans.

When the movie starts you see the Universal logo they slowy zoom into earth right into hinkly Hills. The street/houses are not real its a very real-like miniature set.

A few days ago i was rewatching The Burbs and took a close look at the street and i am 99% certain its fake.

Or am i stating the obvious here

Yeah I once spent hours on google maps trying to find where they were zooming in to then finally realized it was a miniature prop. You can see the two fade/blends where it goes from satellite to miniature to back lot

The famous ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) was responsible for these special effect.

Never heard of them. Might check em out soon.
