What about movies that you really thought were going to be good but ended up being, well, rather crappy?

I nominate the 300. This is a movie about the greatest feat of arms in history - the battle of Thermopylae, where a few hundred Spartans and a few thousand Greeks held off an army of between 250,000 to 1,000,000 Persians for several days until they were betrayed by one of their countrymen. As a Texan, I hate to say this but this out-Alamos the Alamo and the betrayal is worse than that of Benedict Arnold. This could have been a great movie but they made it into a cartoon. Great action scenes, but the storyline was full of melodrama and bad history.

Also Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2. The acting stunk and the stories were weak. After seeing the original 3 Star Wars, especially the first one, I felt Lucas really dropped the ball on these.

I concur with the Star Wars Dan. I couldn't see how he could ever live up to the first 3!

Erm...well...lots of sequels are crap. The worst film I think I've ever seen is the House On Haunted Hill remake. Bloody awful. Every remake, it seems, has to be a politically correct remake.

Yeah, it seems that so many sequels are just going through the motions to reap more bucks from moviegoers without offering anything of value.

Another disappointment was Windtalkers, supposedly about the American Navajo Indian WW 2 heroes who were able to provide through their native language an unbreakable code. Instead of being a story about their struggles and what they did, it was sidetracked by the Nicholas Cage character and was full of violence for the sake of violence only.

I'm in 100% total agreement - I was disappointed by that.

That brings me to a salient point. The way movie makers are rewriting history. eg U571. Bletchley Park and the Enigma.

LOL! oh the nerve!

that "new" exorsist movie. "the story of emily rose" or something. long boring movie with like 10 minutes of actual horror (spread throughout the boring parts)

horrible.

Being a Star Trek fan I was disappointed by "Resurrection" and "Nemesis".

Why don't they just make a movie with the "Deep Space 9" crew?

Death Becomes Her...hadn't seen it in a while. Was on one of the movie channels, so me and my sister watched. Thank goodness I didn't pay to rent it. I only laughed once.

yeah, tons! i cant believe some of this gets through all this and sells! O_O it gives me hope for a movie-idea my sis and i've been working on for like 5 years.

Recently seen: "Knocked Up".

They call THIS a comedy???
