U.F.O.

Yeah the Taliban have been getting stronger for quite a while, but as regards controlling nuclear weapons I personally really don't think that will happen. Way before then will be intervention. No-one will let it happen. Least of all India. I actually question the use of the U.N. these days to be honest.

I think of more concern, since the Soviet Union disolved, 1 kiloton suitcase bombs are missing.

Also, the Soviets have many rusting nukes and the mental health of the isolated guards is also in doubt!

Yep, the world's a f*** up place alright. N Korea...Iran...Pakistan...Afghanistan...yada yada.

CNN is now reporting that the Taliban has agreed to leave the providence, and Pakistan is asserting their nukes are safe. Thats good news, but those militants are still out there somewhere, and they do not have good intentions!

I didn't know about these other issues. 100 suitcase nukes missing since 97, spent rods rusting away in the artic, where does it end?

Ahh to hell with it, I for damn sure will not live in fear or worry,
life's to short already, might as well live it up!! Enjoy

I refuse to worry any longer about it all. Had enough of it. I adopt a 'whatever' approach these days. I lived through the awful threat looming over us in the 80s. It seemed as a teenager everytime I turned on the news on the TV it was a worry whether some crisis would unfurl somewhere.

We had movies played like THREADS, THE DAY AFTER, DAMNATION ALLEY, ON THE BEACH, RED DAWN, the banned THE WAR GAME and THE WAY THE WIND BLOWS.

We had documentaries like QED

HORIZON

Even the music, Frankie Goes To Hollywood TWO TRIBES extended mixes...all about WWIII
Ultravox with 'All Fall Down' and 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes', Enola Gay...ahhh endless.

I used to take a book to school, a big yellow one I remember it well, called PROTECT AND SURVIVE. I remember showing it to my teacher in 1982 and he dismissed it with a grin, as he knew all about nukes. I threw it away. No-one survives a nuclear war. Those that do, are unfortunate.

I agree Art. IF there was a nuclear war,i'd prefer to be instantly incinerated.

Scary huh?

My daughter's 5 and she's the first thing I think of.

Me too. I certainly wouldn't call those who survive a nuclear war "winners". Nonetheless currently I don't see the danger of a global nuclear war.

I'm more concerned about this frightening Dirty Bomb and the impact it would have on the area where it exploded.

It may not cause many deaths but the psychological influence would be dreadful to the population.

Yeah they might blow up the financial district and get rid off some of those greedy capitalist bankers.

Sorry, this might be too black for humour.
