It's horrible when they cut movies like this, especially when it concerns The Burbs. Why do they have to mutilate movies like that? Mutilations! Mutilations! The Incubus, the succubus...

Walter, I have your dog.
Oh, and I just remembered, they also cut almost all of the dream sequence. I love the bit with Queenie with the little axe through her head, but that got cut too.

I recorded the whole film when it was on, so I might watch the rest of it over the next day or two just to see what else got cut.

I've never seen that.

Woah...you mean you don't OWN a copy of the BURBS? Sacrilege!
Pick one up on eBay, they're like a few dollars...costs literally nothing, or get the Blu-Ray edition.

No true Burbs fan could live without owning a copy! I've got 2 copies on VHS (I can't bring myself to throw them out - one of these tapes I've probably watched 300 times). Plus I have it on DVD! And I have both the steel book blu ray and the plastic case blu ray pre ordered for August!

(Oh, I also have a copy I downloaded online. I tried everywhere online I could think of, but there isn't a single place you can legally stream/download The Burbs, which is crazy. So I was forced to find it somewhere else...But now I can watch it on my iPad in bed :D).

I recorded it when it was on TV because I thought it would be greet to have it on my TV box, so that anytime I wanted to watch it I could just hit play. But that was before I realised how much of the film had been cut!

I've never seen that.

Aaahhhh...

 :D I feel better now

300 times? Wow...I wonder how many times I've watched it...maybe it is that many times, never counted it really...

Probably another 300 on DVD...How many times do you have to watch one film to be considered nuts?

I've never seen that.

I guess you already crossed that mark loooong time ago, Kris. ;)

If I get put in a mental asylum, I wonder if they'll let me watch The Burbs in a padded room whilst wearing a straight jacket...?

I've never seen that.

As long as you're not chanting, this shouldn't be a problem.

Walter, I have your dog.
I'll make you guys feel better...

...I once went to a movie theater to watch a kids movie 25 times. You can imagine how the ticket-guard looked at me every time, he was trying hard to be polite...but how do you keep honest when you're thinking someone's totally nuts?! :D

Well, I had my excuse - I was a NOOB animator and was a big fan of animation, and as a NOOB I had NO idea where to start to learn about animation back then. It changed my life, that's another story though.

Oh wait...maybe that didn't make you guys feel better at all?! :D :D :D :D

No, it did make me feel better :) Actually, I'd like to know what film that was that you kept going back to see.

Even though there are many films that I've watched dozens of times on DVD or TV, there are very few films that I've even seen twice at the cinema. I saw Home Alone about 5 times when I was a kid, and that's probably my cinema record (I kept finding new friends and family who hadn't seen it that I could go with!).

I wanna watch The Burbs all day, Burbs is good, Burbs is my pal.

I've never seen that.
I really can't tell you that, it's too embarrassing today. :D

(Hint...it's phunned with my nickname, but if you're not from Scandinavia, it's a real hard movie to guess).
