What do you Neighbors think about the new art work and case designs of the blu-ray release? personally i think the new art work looks pretty good but i think i'm a little more partial to the limited edition Steelbook case. but i'm curious what you guys think.

I think it looks amazing!

I don't have a blu-ray player, but I'd buy it just for the collectors value and the extra booklet alone.

The 'Burbs is so under-appreciated in this world that anything to do with the 'Burbs I love. Love both covers.... steel book takes it through, classic Ray with spatula & hose spread.

I love the new artwork! A couple of nights ago, when I just happened to see the new Blu Rays listed on Amazon, I couldn't believe it! To see a new cover for The Burbs after all these years, it felt very weird.

For so long, I thought that everyone (except us die hard fans) had forgotten about The Burbs forever. To know that people have been working on this artwork and the new DVDs makes me feel good.

Even though they'll add up to more than £40, I'm definitely gonna buy both new versions, including the steel book option. I've been hoping for proper releases for The Burbs for years and years, so how can I not get them both?!

I also like both covers but definitely prefer the steelbook version. Can't wait until this finally is being released. Just like Kris I think I'm gonna buy both versions since I'm trying to suck in as much Burbs stuff as I am able to.

Damn I'm really excited about this, it's really finally happening.

Edit: Just checked a few German sites concerning the Blu Ray content. It will feature a photo gallery, the alternate ending and at least an exclusive interview with Joe Dante which is something to look forward to. But I'm afraid there will not be an audio commentary, neither from Joe Dante nor from Dana Olsen. It would have been interesting to especially hear something from the scriptwriter about the movie but this guy doesn't seem to give interviews.

Will there definitely not be a commentary? All the sites I've looked at say that more details of the extras will be revealed closer to the release date.

I'm sure Joe Dante would do a commentary if he was asked. He still seems to love talking about The Burbs. I am so desperate for a commentary!

OK, so let's keep our fingers crossed they will include some more extras. It didn't read THAT definite so let's keep on hoping :-)

personally i really hope the infamous BBQ scene is finally put in the extras i have been dying to see that ever since i saw the trailer some 15 years ago now lol

Actually, I think there are quite a few bits from the trailer that never ended up in the film. The BBQ scene, a scene in the living room with Ray and Carol, and a scene with Ray, Ricky, and Bonnie with a ladder (I think it's while they're waiting for Rumsfield to break into Walter's house to let them in).

I don't remember another film where so much of the trailer is bits that never ended up in the film.
