Any movie that gives you the same feeling as The 'Burbs?

My neighborhood is kind of turning into the Burbs after the new rental neighbors moved into town, I like the movie...not the new neighbors, they're weird.

Have you already seen them diggin'...in their backyard? :omg:

I'm planning on putting up a video camera to check'em out. You know...in my yard.

Even my guests think they're weird. I didn't even say anything about them, but my guests mentioned them right away, they're THAT weird.

With infrared night vision, I hope?

Red Rover, Red Rover, let JoOngle go over.

This is great.

Some great examples so far with The Watch and E.T., but what I think about when The 'Burbs comes up is the neighbourhood. The Street.

Fright Night and maybe Poltergeist

gives me that same feeling and a few animated ones too like Monster House and Over the Hedge.

I especially like that last one because of the suburban setting.

My favorite videogame, Zombies Ate My Neighbours for Super Nintendo also gives me a strong Burbs vibe.

You're right about the street. The street is a big reason I keep coming back! And Poltergeist has a very similar suburban feel.

I've never heard of Monster House, but it looks like fun. I'll have to watch it soon.

The street is very iconic. And the music gives it a very suburban, summer feel. The side characters are what puts this movie over the top, in my opinion. The Garbies, the Klopeks, Steve Kuntz. They add so much more to the movie, even after the amazing performances of the main cast.
