I just finished watching The 'Burbs, during a nice summer rain storm with thunder and lighting on a late Friday night. I could here it from inside my living room while watching the movie, such a great atmosphere.
I noticed a couple of things that I'm sure have already be noted. Inside Walter's (Gale Gordon) house there is a photo of Lucille Ball on his TV set. This is clear reference to his time on Here's Lucy in which he co stared.
Also Bonnie almost laughs when Ray is eating the sardine, she covers it well with the cough but if you look closely a little smile sneaks through.

Correct. Did you also see Art almost cracking up in the back in the scene after Carol slammed the door in Rays face and he's cooling his nose on the couch?
