Have you seen the cheating stuff? Okay...so the CGI stuff...whatever...everyone was fooled thinking it was the greatest pyro event ever...But it's a victimless...'crime'...in fact I thought it was pretty ingenuitive (is that a word? I don't care...it is now).

But to replace a 7 year old because she's deemed 'ugly' and replace her with a miming older girl with a cute face - - - - - - - BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT - - - - - -use the 7 year old's beautiful singing voice?

As I always knew. Cruel, heartless b@st@rds.

Bear bile farms. Check them out. I have no doubt many Chinese people are cool, great, people.

But Jesus the lack of animal and human rights makes me ill. And the blatant disregard for this girl's feelings...
 
It's a regime. A regime which kills people. A regime which supresses almost every kind of civil rights and liberties one can imagine. A beautiful opening ceremony (even if it was 100% real) would not have changed this. It's a cruel system.

Yet they keep growing and growing in every thinkable way (population, economy, military etc.). In, let's say a decade, they might be the second - biggest force on planet earth maybe even surpass the U.S. power. I don't even dare to think about a military conflict between China on the one side and the USA on the other side.
 
All the thinking here is China will certainly be the main superpower in a decade at their rate of growth.

I dread to think of conflict too...cos they seem to have scant regard for life and seem quite an unsympathetic, cold bunch. Okay, it's easy to generalise but as a rule of thumb, when looking at nations, China seem rather callous.

I couldn't imagine the negotiating would be easy with them at a time of international conflict...

Watch out Taiwan....that's the one than could quite easily trigger WWIII. All the eyes are on Russia, Georgia, Iran, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan...

I've been using Tivo so i can watch them on my time.
