Christmas time is almost here!

In the stores here, they start selling Christmas things as soon as Halloween is over. What about where you live?
 
yeah here too. I find it a bit strange, but whatever makes the world go around.

In Germany it starts in the middle of November which is still too early.
 
There are some stores here in Atlanta that start putting some decoration items out in August, but it's usually full blast the day after Halloween.
 
When I was at University I worked 1 day a week at a local store. I remember in my shorts in July going into the stock room and seeing about 6 cages full of Christmas stuff. We actually put it out too LOL I loved it :)

Was kinda surreal though...

in August...that's insane! commercialzing of Christmas, sad, sad, sad.
 
There is that - commercialization - and it is sad if that is all it means to some people, but the upside is that Christmas does get a lot of attention and celebration.

My brother-in-law and I give each other crappy gifts for Christmas every year. I am trying to find one of those leg lamps - a major award - to give him that doesn't cost $100. I may have to buy a mannequin leg and make one myself using that and an old lamp shade
 
Last year the stores were rolling out the Christmas goods (and it IS Christmas, boys and girls, not "xmas") well before Halloween got underway. You had to be quick to stock up, too. I remember going back for something in early December and most of their Christmas stuff had been sold and was getting cleared out!
