Affirmative for Mr. Peterson here as well.

It's a great looking cover...

Which reminds me, we still haven't seen the final artwork for the new blu ray steel book. It's still missing Tom Hanks's name, and there's no hint of what the internal double artwork will be. I'm still hoping it's the 3 guys behind the trash cans :)

The French release was delayed, not cancelled.

It's important to keep in mind that these new Blu-rays are not getting released solely by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. But by boutique labels that specialize in classic and cult films.

Arrow in the UK
Carlotta in France
Umbrella in Australia

I am really hoping that Criterion gets the US release rights.

I thought I was joking before when I said I might end up owning dozens of copies of The Burbs. But if lots of countries get their own release it might turn out to be true! I would imagine the US version, if it gets made, will have a lot of great extras on it.

Maybe that's why there's no blooper reel on the Arrow release. You'd think they'd be more willing to put out more things for a US release, seeing that it's an American movie.

Then again, maybe it isn't as popular on this side of the Atlantic. Pretty much everyone on this board(lately), besides me, is in Europe, after all.

Well, a lot of the extras on the upcoming UK release are made by Arrow especially for this release, like the documentaries and the commentary. So nothing to do with Universal. Actual footage that Universal has the rights to is very different, and they could easily be holding them back for the US. They may even have the lost alternate endings up their sleeves...
