The Burbs Blu Rays and Extras

Mine has shipped too! I wonder how long Arrow normally take to deliver? I think mine will probably get here on Thursday...

Yeah, welcome back Kris. Good to have you back. And as Uncle Reube here already mentioned: Usually "The Burbs" should always manage to cheer you up (at least a little bit), no matter how tough life occasionally becomes.

I took a few pictures of the steelbook veresion of the blu ray, in case anyone wants to see it up close before their copy arrives, or perhaps if you're getting the plastic case version instead (I'm getting the plastic one too, but that's pre ordered with Amazon, so that won't come until the official release date).

They did a great job on the steelbook - it's really beautiful. Here's the front, back, and insides:









I'm a little surprised at the artwork they chose for the inside. I was sure they'd go with the 3 guys behind the trashcans, and if not that, then I thought it would be the Klopek house exploding. Instead, they went with Ray and Art running from the bees and Walter looking on with Queenie. Still looks great though!

Oh, and yes, they went back and added Tom Hands' name to the credits

Cool, thanks for the pics, Kris. So can you also let us know a little bit about the extras on the BluRay? Anything new, anything you have never ever seen before?

I don't know anyting yet because I'm too scared to watch anything I've been waiting for some of this stuff for 15 years and I want to savour it a bit more and wait for the right moment! I'm sure I'll cave soon though...I need to get a bag of pretzels first though...

I have this feeling that once I watch everything on this blu ray there may never be anything "new" about The Burbs ever again. Then again, that's never stopped me wathching the film again and again and again.

I'm fine with not having anything new after this. I'm really grateful that we are getting as much as we are.

I know when I get it, I'm gonna watch it all pretty quickly.

Still no Blu-Ray Peterson player, but I'm mostly looking forward to the interviews and commentary stuff.

I don't have a bluray player but i have bluray discs, i guess this release will make me buy one as i'm dreaming about extras for the 'Burbs since 15 years, and i almost gave up the idea.

Gonna watch all the extras.

Where did you all buy this? It's not on the German amazon page, I can't find it on ebay...Did you order it at Arrow Films directly?
