I've been looking around online to see if I can find out anything about the extras/special features that will be included on the new blu rays. Thought it might be good to have a thread about it, since more news will be coming as the release date gets nearer.

It sounds like the company behind this release are really going to town. Several sources say that there will be more than 4 hours of extras on the blu rays. And I've seen official statements that both Corey Feldman and Courtney Gains have been interviewed as part of a feature length documentary all about The Burbs! (there are rumours that Bruce Dern was also interviewed.)

Even though the blu rays are being produced by Arrow Films, the extras are being done by High Rising Productions. I emailed them to ask about what extras they're doing, so if I hear anything from them I'll share it here.

Here are a couple of links.

First, a picture of Courtney Gains when he met up to do the interview for The Burbs documentary: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/t1.0-9/p180x540/1391888_668279603206037_2085840030_n.jpg

Second, a picture of Corey Feldman during HIS Burbs documentary interview: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=9050591&postcount=142

Third, a link to an official tweet from the company doing all The Burbs extras, just as proof that this 90 minute documentary is genuine! https://twitter.com/HighRisingPro/status/450631055901335552

Can't wait for June 23rd!

I know, but it only links to the same picture of Corey that I linked to in the original post. I just included the tweet as official confirmation from the company that's making the documentary and the other extras.

Thanks for opening this thread.

Excellent, excellent. June 23 is like an early christmas for me. Honestly, I'm feeling a certain excitement about this. The more extras, the better.

Only 5 weeks to go now until The Burbs gets the blu rays it's deserved for so long!

I was just looking at the artwork for the steelbook and I noticed they forgot to put Tom Hanks' name anywhere on the case. I know it's only temporary artwork, but I hope they don't forget to add his name in!

Here's the image for it, and note no mention of Tom in the credits on the back:

Heh...good observational skills.

Mentioning Carrie Fisher & Bruce Dern and not Tom Hanks (which is the main character in the film), is a major screwup. What are these people thinking? I can't take them seriously after that.

What did they pay for getting the rights to distribute the Blu-Ray version? Did they pay with Milk-Stamps?
