The Burbs Blu Rays and Extras

"Ewan here with an update on our Burbs release! Ok, so the plan was to announce The Burbs specs today - but we thought, instead of just posting a list of the specs as usual, why not do something a bit more FUN? Said fun will be ready for your viewing pleasure on Tuesday - exact time TBC tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a grab from one of our extras to whet your proverbial!"

Okay, Arrow are making us wait one final day to hear about all the extras. Here's what they said on their facebook page:

"Hi all, The 'Burbs spec reveal is well and truly on the way but you're going to have to bear with us one day more I'm afraid! Our extra special extras reveal is now set for tomorrow and that is immovable. In the meantime, here's a pic of Mr. Corey Feldman himself as he appears in our upcoming doc, and - oh yes - the first grab from our brand-spanking new restoration of the movie! "I bet that hurts, huh?"

If you want to see if for yourself, check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/ArrowVideo

It should be at the top of their timeline, or very near the top if not.

I wonder why they keep delaying the announcement? Could they still be negaotiating what they're allowed to put on the blu ray?

Overall I'm really pleased with the extras! I'm disappointed that Joe Dante isn't on the commentary track, and that the cheerleader/garbagemen deleted scenes don't seem to be included, but everything else looks great.

Having the workprint cut is amazing and something I never expected to be included. I've heard Joe Dante talk about this version of the film before and never thought I'd get a chance to see it.

It's very strange to see so many previously unseen moments from The Burbs in that YouTube video. Can't wait until September 15th so that i can devour everything!

I don't think I've been this excited about something in quite a while. I can't wait!

As long as most of the deleted scenes are included in the workprint, that's enough for me. I'm very happy about the isolated music track and the making-of doc.

The only disappointment for me is the absence of a blooper reel.

If *MOST* of the deleted scenes is included with the workprint, then YOU can make your own blooper-reel :)

Yeah, I'm very happy with this announcement! New stuff from The Burbs, never before seen scenes from Dante's workprint version, soundtrack, audio commentary of the screenwriter Dana Olsen...absolutely fantastic. I'm really excited. Christmas will be in September this year.
